Working with clients to create custom commissioned pieces has always been one of my favorite tasks as a professional artist. Since the pandemic began I have done numerous large projects with clients spread far and wide. I am happy to discuss ideas and the process and give you a quote over the phone or email. Please reach out and take the first step in allowing me to create a stunning piece for your home or office. (415-867-8676 or firstname.lastname@example.org)
The process generally looks like this:
- Contact me and we'll discuss details about making your vision a reality.
- I'll quote you a price based on size and content details.
- Grab your place in the "Commission Queue" by sending a deposit.
- Before I get to work I'll send a loose thumbnail sketch confirming composition.
- When you approve the final painting, you pay the remainder( including any applicable tax and shipping charges) and the painting is sent on its way to you.
Here are what two recent clients had to say --The first one commissioned a large piece for her office and then a smaller piece as a gift. When she received the “gift" piece she fell in love with it and decided to commission a third piece, so that she could enjoy something similar in her home!
“I just arrived in La Quinta and saw the painting. And all I can is WOW! Not only is it beautiful but it is so emotionally moving. I’ve looked at it in the daylight and evening and it changes how you perceive it. Thank you for creating such a beautiful piece of art that we will cherish for many years.”
- Krissie, K., La Quinta, CA
“I love it!!! I have to tell you that this painting is my bright light during this challenging time! ….. The painting you did for Liz is truly stunning! I look at it as the light changes and it one of the most enticing paintings I have seen. Being a hiker, I have seen that view many times. I will be giving it to her this weekend and would like to commission you to paint something similar for my wall…..You capture all of the reasons I moved here! …. It is truly perfect for my house!”
- Cindy C., La Quinta, CA
I love my large commissioned piece over my fireplace, by artist Terry Sauve. In the morning while enjoying a nice cup of coffee and listening to Chopin, or in the evening enjoying a glass of wine, and listening to Rachmaninov, it never fails to give me a sense of inner peace and tranquility. It’s almost unexplainable, there is something just right about it. My wife and I also own three other originals, from Terry, and they have the same effect on us. We also own a few pieces from two other artists. Art is very subjective, so I am always interested in watching the reaction of our guests, as they look at our different works of art. After dozens of guests to our home, with no exceptions, they are drawn to my originals by Terry Sauve. Not a day goes by without stopping to look at and admire our beautiful art by Terry. Thank you again Terry Sauve, for contributing to the beautiful, relaxed, and peaceful environment in our home.
- Sincerely, David H.
I met Terry twice over the last couple of years and fell in love with her work. Last year I again stopped by on an Art Trail weekend hoping to find a painting that would fill a special place in our home. Two paintings came real close to what we were looking for. We started talking about what we had in mind. Terry said if I could find some photos of what we liked, she would love to put in on canvas for us.
She created something so special for our home. Everyone that has spent some time in that room comments on how the seasons change with the changing sun light. You put the Tetons in our living room. Thanks Terry.

This Bolinas beach view has been very popular as original paintings and prints but this client wanted it just so...so she got it just the way she wanted.
Everything Terry paints is so realistic, clearly one can see her talent. With so many beautiful subjects to chose from her portfolio, it was difficult to narrow down to just one subject. Terry gave us choices and even suggested combining two different subjects onto one painting. We ended up with two separate paintings. She gave us a timeframe for completion; then beat her estimate by a week, allowing us to have the paintings in time for Christmas. We could not be more pleased with our two gorgeous paintings. And Terry has such an affable manner, that we hope to commission another painting from her soon.

This diptych measures 36' x 72" and happily hangs in San Francisco.
We have had the most satisfying experience commissioning a painting with Terry Sauve. My husband and I met Terry at an art show where I fell in love with her California hills paintings. We had a specific location in our home in mind and none of her existing paintings would fit in that space so we commissioned one of the right size and the scene location in Northern California. Terry took the time to tour that area, take photos, and make sketches of her composite ideas to provide us with exactly what we had in mind. Terry communicated with us throughout the process allowing us to participate in the look of the final product which we are completely satisfied with or more accurately cherish. Thank you Terry

A view from a client's home in Lake Geneva, Switzerland. It's hard to see with this photo but they asked me to add a duck and a rabbit!
This was a commission I painted for a client who chose the components of the painting.
A commission for a client in the Palm Springs/ La Quinta area
This commission was inspired by a similar painting but the client wanted a larger size.
People love cows! This commission was again inspired by a similar painting but the client wanted grazing cows, so I gladly added some to the new painting.
